Halal products and services have now evolved from an ‘exclusive’ or ‘select’ marketplace for cultural and religious reasons into a global movement and lifestyle incorporating major economic sectors. 

Thanks to its vibrant Muslim community, South Africa is set to become a leading producer of Halal products worldwide. Being the largest exporter of Halal product into Africa and recognised as the key gateway supplier to African Halaal markets, South Africa will no doubt be a material contributor to the global Halal Economy which is estimated to be worth $3.2 trillion by 2024, according to the Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZA) 2021 Report. 

In addition, South Africa boasts a comprehensive Halal certification programme and about half of all retail food and beverage products by volume are Halal certified. 

The Halal International Trade Expo is Africa’s MUST-ATTEND event that provides the tools, insights and contacts for buyers and sellers shaping their commercial strategies for the in the South African and African Halal economy. 

The event will showcase major projects underway boosting Africa’s Halal industry including AfCFTA (Africa Continental Free Trade Area) and will give exhibitors direct access to serious buyers in a thriving market and visitors an opportunity to cultivate new relationships and meet suppliers.
